9(a) TEMPORARY VISITOR´S VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR CHINESE/ TAIWANESE NATIONALS 

The Temporary Visitor’s Visa is issued to foreigners who will go to the Philippines for pleasure as tourists, or to visit relatives and friends, or for recreation and amusement purposes.

It is also issued to foreigners who are of commercial, industrial or professional character or any other legitimate activity of temporary nature. Examples of such temporary visitors are foreigners entering for the purpose of attending international conferences or negotiating contracts, attending scientific, education or business meetings, convocation or conventions, travelling salesmen, factory or agricultural experts, consulting engineers, newspaper correspondents, writers, artists, lecturers and theatrical performers.

The Embassy issues two categories of Temporary Visa with validity periods of up to three (3) months or six (6) months. The multiple entry visas are a best fit for businessmen or tourists who intend to frequently visit the Philippines, but can only be applied for if the applicant has already visited the Philippines in the past or has an invitation letter of the company/agency he is going to work for in the Philippines.

The period of validity of a visa indicates the time within which entry into the Philippines may be affected.  It does not refer to the length of stay in the Philippines.  Temporary visa holders whose stay in the Philippines will exceed fifty-nine (59) days must secure an extension of stay with the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation and pay the necessary immigration fees.

Foreign travelers who need entry visas to travel to the Philippines should file their applications at least two weeks before their intended departure from Argentina.

The visa application requires the personal appearance of visa applicant. An applicant of minor age (younger than 18 years) must be accompanied by a parent or the legal guardian. Applications for infants (age two years and younger) can be lodged by a parent; the infant does not have to be brought to the Embassy.

Approved visas can be claimed after two (2) working days.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Two (2) Duly accomplished Visa Application Form for Chinese/Taiwanese signed by the applicant. If the applicant is a minor, the application must be signed by either parent;
2. Passport with a minimum validity of six months beyond applicant's intended date of departure from the Philippines;
3. Two (2) 2”x2” inches photograph of the applicant with a white background, pasted in the designated box in the application form;
4. Photocopy of applicant’s flight booking, itinerary or airline ticket
5. DNI original and photocopy
6. Proof of Financial Capacity
7. Certificate of Employment
8. Hotel Reservation
9. Letter of Support of Guarantee of inviting sponsor in the Philippines attesting to guarantee all financial expenses of the foreign visitor and his/her compliance with Philippine laws while in the Philippines. The letter should be addressed to the Consular Section, Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Buenos Aires, Argentina with complete contact details and a copy of the inviting person’s passport. If the inviting party is a foreigner based in the Philippines, the letter must include proof of legal status/visa in the Philippines.
10. For minor visa applicants (below 18) who will not be accompanied by either parent, please comply with above-mentioned basic requirements. In addition, please also submit the following documents:

• Affidavit of Support and Consent signed by both parents, with English translation, duly notarized by a local notary public, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and finally, authenticated by the Philippine Embassy; and,
• Photo copy of parents’ passports.

7. Anone refundable visa fee to be paid in cash and in US dollar only:        

• Single entry valid for three (3) months US$ 40.00
• Multiple entry valid for six (6) months US$ 80.00

Express Processing Fee: If you pay an additional fee of US$10.00, your visa may be processed and released the next working day.

TEMPORARY VISITOR ON BOARD PRIVATELY-OWNED YACHTS OR SAILBOATS

Upon entry into the Philippines, the crew of the yacht and sailboats are required to register immediately with the nearest Coast Guard Station and submit the vessel to Customs, Immigration and Quarantine inspections.

7-DAY VISA-FREE ENTRY FOR TEMPORARY VISIT

The following are allowed to enter the Philippines for temporary visits (business/tourism) without a visa for a stay not exceeding seven (7) days, provided they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination and their passports are valid for a period of at least six (6) months beyond the contemplated period of stay:

1. Holders of People’s Republic of China passports with either a valid Australian, Canadian, Japanese, Schengen, or US visa
2. Holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative (SAR) passports
3. Holders of British National Overseas (BNO) passports
4. Holders of Portuguese passports issued in Macao
5. Holders of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) passports
6. Holders of People’s Republic of China passports coming for tourism and with either a valid Australian, Canadian, Japanese, Schengen, or US visa

VISA ADVISORY

• As per International Health Regulation of the World Health Organization (WHO), a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required for traveler over one (1) year of age, coming from yellow fever endemic zone (which includes South America) upon entry to the Philippines. The International Yellow Fever Vaccine becomes valid 10 days after vaccination and remains valid for a period of 10 years. If a traveler or arriving passenger coming from South America fails to present a yellow fever vaccination card, passive surveillance shall be applied. He should be given health alert notice on yellow fever and his name will be registered in a log-book together with his contact number and address. This will be done by every QMO (Quarantine monitoring officer) on duty in the airports to protect the Philippines from the risk of spreading yellow fever virus. 

• Beginning 01 October 2016, the Philippine Embassy will accept only electronic passports and machine readable passports for visa applications. Non-machine readable passports (hand-scripted passports) will not be accepted for visa applications.

• Beginning 01 January 2017, Philippine immigration authorities will not allow entry into Philippine airports and seaports of foreign nationals holding non-machine readable passports.

• Persons who were previously deported from the Philippines or included in the "blacklist order" of the Department of Foreign Affairs or Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines will not be allowed entry to the Philippines.
