Consular Officers are authorized to solemnize marriages between two Filipinos of the states under the jurisdiction of the Embassy/Consulate General. Both bride and groom must personally appear at the Philippine Embassy to accomplish and sign the Application for Marriage License and to submit the documentary requirements.
The ceremony of marriage solemnization will be on a date after the mandatory 10-day publication of the marriage (marriage bann) following the submission of the complete documentary requirements at the Embassy.
The contracting parties must provide two witnesses, both age 21 years or older, who will attend the marriage ceremony and sign the Contract of Marriage.
Documentary Requirements for the Solemnization of Marriage at the Philippine Embassy
Original and a photocopy of each document must be submitted to the Embassy upon application for marriage license. The original documents will be returned to the contracting parties after solemnization of marriage.

Additional documents for each personal circumstance that applies:
- For a contracting party who had a previous marriage annulled by court:Amended PSA Marriage Certificatewith annotation of annulment,authenticated by DFA
- For a contracting party who had a previous marriage dissolved by a Philippine Court recognition of foreign divorce:Amended PSA Marriage Certificatewith annotation of annulment,authenticated by DFA
- For a contracting party who is a widow or widower:PSA Death Certificateof deceased spouse,authenticated by DFA
- For a contracting partyage 18-21 years old, an Affidavit of Consent executed by the parents of the contracting party, notarized by a Philippine public notary and authenticated by DFA
- For a contracting partyage 22-25 years old, written Parental Advice of parents, notarized by a Philippine public notary and authenticated by DFA
The PSA issued Certificate of No Previous Marriage, birth certificate, marriage certificate, or death certificate from the PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority, formerly the NSO) must be brought to the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Authentication Division located at:

If a representative will submit and claim the documents at a DFA Authentication unit, the latter must bring these items:
- A government-issued ID and photocopy of the ID,
- Special Power of Attorney signed by the contracting parties and acknowledged by the Philippine Embassy in Argentina; and
- Copy of the contracting parties’ passport or ID bearing the signatures of the contracting parties.
