Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires Conducts Consular Outreach Mission, Mobile Overseas Voting Registration and Prison Visit in Bolivia

26 October 2015- The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires conducted a consular outreach mission, mobile overseas voting registration and a prison visit in Santa Cruz, Bolivia from 21 to 22 October 2015.

On 21 October 2015, the consular team composed of Consul Ma. Carmela Teresa A. Cabreira and Consular Assistant Marleth Cruz-Siman conducted a consular outreach mission through the assistance of Philippine Honorary Consul General in Santa Cruz, Mr. Raul Kieffer. During the outreach mission, the team successfully processed 7 passport renewal applications, 1 passport extension, 14 overseas voting registrants and 16 other consular related services. There are an estimated 37 Filipinos in Bolivia.

Consular outreach mission and overseas voting registration in Santa Cruz, Bolivia

On 22 October 2015, Consul General Kieffer accompanied the consular team to visit a Filipina detained in the Palmasola Prison Complex located in the outskirts of Santa Cruz. To date, there is only one Filipina detained in the said facility and she is scheduled for release next month.

The visit to Santa Cruz is part of the Embassy´s consular outreach program which aims to bring the services of the Philippine Government closer to the Filipino communities within its jurisdiction. END
