Deaths of Filipino citizens abroad must be reported and duly registered. The Philippine Embassy registers deaths of Filipino citizens in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Below are requirements for the civil registry death report:
- Four (4) copies of the duly accomplished Report of Death form.
- One (1) original and three (3) photocopies of the death certificate translated into English and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country of death.
- Four (4) photocopies of the passport of the deceased
- Payment of Report of Birth Fee of US$25 payable in cash and in US dollars only
The Embassy will forward the Report of Death to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the Philippines. You may retrieve the PSA-certified Death Certificate from the Philippines three months after reporting the death at the Embassy.
Note: Consular Mortuary Certificates are issued when remains or the cremated remains of a deceased (Filipino or foreigner) are to be transported to the Philippines.
