15 August 2017 MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY — The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, with the assistance of the Philippine Honorary Consul in Montevideo, Uruguay, Mr. Santiago Cuadra, the Uruguayan Prefecture, and the International Transport Federation (ITF) in the Philippines, Chile and Argentina, repatriated two Filipino seafarers of the Chinese fishing vessel “LU QING YUAN YU 206” from Montevideo, Uruguay on August 12 after they complained of maltreatment at the ship.
Messrs. Ried Joed P. Dela Cuesta and Justin Eric M. Hernandez arrived in Manila on August 14. They expressed their gratitude to the Philippine Government for the immediate and invaluable assistance to repatriate them to the Philippines.END.
