07 May 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, in close coordination with Emirates Airlines, conducted a Philippine tourism presentation and training seminar for representatives of major wholesale tour operators in Argentina at the Alvear Arts Hotel in Buenos Aires on 06 May 2015 as part of its efforts to promote Visit Philippines Year.
The main purpose of the activity was to provide wholesale tour operators in Argentina with basic information on various tourism destinations and activities in the Philippines, including possible itineraries and contacts with Philippine tour operators, in order to encourage them to regularly offer tour packages to the Philippines.
Second Secretary and Consul Ma. Carmela Teresa A. Cabreira made the tourism presentation and conducted the training seminar on behalf of the Embassy. The presentation was then followed by an open forum where tour operators raised some basic travel questions and their thoughts on how to best promote the Philippines in Argentina. All participants were given press kits with destination brochures in Spanish.
The tourism presentation and training seminar is part of a series of tourism promotion activities that will be undertaken by the Embassy this year to increase tourism arrivals from Argentina. In 2014, a total of 1,252 Argentine tourists visited the Philippines. END.
