10 June 2016- The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina opened its doors to students and professors of the Colegio Julio Argentino Roca on June 08.

In her welcome remarks, Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino stressed the importance of education and encouraged the students to take advantage of Argentina’s free public education from kindergarten to university level. She informed them of the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal where they can read books about the Philippines

Consul Ma. Carmela Teresa Cabreira gave a briefing on the history of the Embassy and its functions as well as Philippine culture. She also answered questions from the students about the government, food, sports, and places in the Philippines.

The video “It´s More Fun in the Philippines” was shown during the visit which ended with a merienda of pansit and banana muffin. END
