22 June 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Argentina in cooperation with the Comuna 13 of the City of Buenos Aires opened the week-long series of activities dubbed “Live the Culture of the Philippines at the Comuna” with a photo and costume exhibit on June 13.
The exhibit showcased the different tourist destinations in the Philippines along with traditional Filipiniana costumes.
In her remarks during the opening, Philippine Ambassador to Argentina Ma. Amelita C. Aquino cited the importance of culture in fostering closer relations and better understanding between our peoples. She expressed hope that through the exhibit and the activities that will be undertaken during the week that include a Filipino martial arts exhibition, a presentation on Philippine culture and a cooking demonstration and food tasting, Argentines will know more about the Philippines and its people.
The opening was enlivened with the performance of the tinikling by Embassy personnel who later invited the guests to try the dance. END
