15 July 2016 - On July 13, Embassy personnel attended the 90th Anniversary of the Escuela Numero 13, also known as the Escuela de la Republica de Filipinas in Mataderos, Buenos Aires. This is the second primary school in Argentina named after the country. The Embassy representatives were received by the School Director Ms. Marcela Ursi, Mataderos school district authorities, teachers, parents and a large group of enthusiastic primary school students.
During the program, Cultural Officer Eva M. Lazaro read the message of Philippine Ambassador to Argentina Ma. Amelita C. Aquino. She encouraged the students to study and finish school as they are the future of Argentina. She also gave tribute to the teachers for their vocation to teach and guide the students to bring out the best in them.
The program included the singing of the national anthems of the Philippine and Argentina, and cultural dance performances students from kindergarten to 7th grade. END
