30 June 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, in coordination with the culinary school Escuela de Cocina de Belgrano and Comuna 13 of the City Government of Buenos Aires, organized a cooking demonstration and food tasting event at the school on June 16 as the culminating activity of Philippine week in Comuna 13 in Buenos Aires. The event is part of the activities in commemoration of Philippine Independence.

Ms. Cristina Sunae, an Asian-American who was raised in Pampanga by her Filipina stepmother and considered as the doyenne of Southeast Asian cooking in Buenos Aires, prepared sotanghon guisado and cassava cake during the hour-long demonstration. She also answered questions from the audience regarding Philippine gastronomy and culture. END
