04 August 2016— The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires held a briefing for the Filipino Community in Argentina on human trafficking and migrant smuggling on July 31 at the Philippine Embassy Chancery in Buenos Aires.
Vice Consul Miguel Carlo N. Hornilla stressed the gravity of the challenge posed by human trafficking in the 21st century, noting that it is among the top human rights challenges of today. Post also provided the members of the Filipino Community with updates on the Philippine Government´s fight against human trafficking, and provided tips on how to avoid being a victim.
The participants found the briefing informative as majority of them are unaware of the extent and implications of human trafficking and migrant smuggling. END
