16 September 2016 — The Filipino community in Argentina, led by the Embassy’s Cultural Officer Eva Lazaro, joined other countries in celebrating the Dia del Inmigrante(Immigrants Day) organized by the National Basilica of Our Lady of Lujan on September 11.
The celebration began with a procession of the pilgrims around the Basilica and concluded with a Mass celebrated by the parish priest and rector of the Basilica, Rev. Fr. Jose Daniel Blanchoud.
The Basilica of Lujan is Argentina’s most famous church and houses the image of Our Lady of Lujan, patroness of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. END
