23 September 2016 — The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires, in coordination with the Philippine Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Equilibrium Global and the Universidad del Centro de Estudios Macroeconomicos de Argentina (UCEMA), screened the Filipino film “Bamboo Flowers on September 19, as part of the Film-Debate series of the University entitled, “International Relations in the Seventh Art: a Week, a Country, a Film.”   

Ms. Sybil Rhodes, Director of the Masteral Program in International Studies of the UCEMA and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Miguel Hornilla delivered the opening remarks. Vice Consul Hornilla stressed that, more than just entertainment, movies also serve as windows to the lives of Filipinos as well as our culture.

In attendance were officials and students of the university as well as film aficionados and some members of Filipino community in Argentina who were visibly moved by the film. END
