On 23 January 2024, the Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires hosted the 35th meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires (ACBA), the last ACBA meeting under the Philippines as Country Chair. During the meeting, Philippine Ambassador Grace T. Cruz-Fabella turned over the ACBA Chairmanship to Ambassador Sulaiman Syarif of Indonesia.

Under the leadership of the Philippines, the ACBA had its first ASEAN Exhibit at the Argentine Foreign Ministry on ASEAN Day. This was followed by a successful ASEAN Day celebration in August 2023 at the Argentine Foreign Ministry. The ACBA increased its public and media engagement through dialogue with the academe and the private sector, and engaged with foreign policy presidential advisers including a landmark meeting with the present Foreign Minister Diana Mondino during the presidential campaign.
