Filipino Food Festival at Captain Cook Restaurant in Argentina
Captain Cook Restaurant in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Argentina dedicated two-nights to Filipino food on 23-24 June 2015 as part of the celebration of Philippine Independence.
The restaurant, located in the Greater Buenos Aires area of Martinez, specializes in southeast Asian and pan-Asian food. With Chef Marta Ramirez at the helm, Captain Cook has been cited as Restaurant of the Year in 2014 by the lifestyle magazine Cuisine & Vins.
The restaurant’s customers and Embassy guests enjoyed a 7-course dinner menu consisting of sotanghon soup, fried spring rolls and fish kinilaw for starters, fish daing and humba for the main dishes and cassava bibingka and sans rival to end the meal.
Philippine lanterns (parols) gave a Filipino touch and festive atmosphere to the restaurant during the food festival.END.
