05 January 2017 – The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires held a wreath laying and flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal.

Vice Consul Carlo Hornilla led the Embassy personnel and the Filipino Community in offering flowers by the bust of Rizal at the Paseo de la Republica de Filipinas in Buesnos Aires.

In his remarks, Vice Consul Hornilla noted how the humanism of Dr. Rizal went beyond merely nationalistic objectives, making him a hero worthy of emulation by all peoples and countries, and his ideas as potent today as they were 120 years ago.
